I can do that for macro..
But portraits?? :(No DSLR, so what?
Took out of focus images that will be my background
Get them on the TV, and pose in front of it
ta da.. I got what I wanted...!!!!!!!!!!

earlier attempt to "photoshop using gimp" was too cumbersome
Using TV screen was a little easier, but clicking such beautiful photos [even with the lens cap on] using DSLR is piece of cake ;-)

BTW Akhil, I didn't buy a DSLR to be a "photographer" and entertain/torture/bore/irritate my online friends ;-)
I just bought it to take my personal pics in low light, as my old camera started showing signs of age with some buttons not working at times and showing low battery/change the batteries message even with new good batteries! Just that I am lucky to be able to afford a DSLR!! :)
